What is a Post Offer Employment Testing (POET)?
The post offer test is a comprehensive medical and functional test to determine if a candidate, when given a contingent offer, can perform the demands of the job and also documents baseline information about the candidate.
When should this be used?
- For job-specific testing of the applicant’s ability to perform physical work
- For baseline information that should be used in the event of treatment of the injured worker
What is a Fit for Duty Test?
Test of essential physical demands to ensure safe work capability and confirm that the employee is able to performessential job functions
When should this be used?
- When there is a reasonable belief that the ability to perform the essential job functions has beenimpaired due to medical condition
- When there is a request for a reasonable accommodation
What is a Physical Agility Test?
Test conducted on all employees in a given position to reassess safe performance of essential job demands
When should this be used?
- Reoccurring physical testing based upon employer needs
- Internal transfer to a new position
